Diplomatic Quarter
Riyadh's green oasis. The DQ offers a unique escape — tree-lined streets, international cuisine, public art, and a peaceful atmosphere unlike anywhere else in the city.
About the DQ
The Diplomatic Quarter was established in the 1980s to house foreign embassies, and it remains one of Riyadh's most distinctive neighborhoods. With its unique architecture, extensive green spaces, and international community, it feels like a different city entirely.
Unlike the rest of Riyadh, the DQ was master-planned with pedestrians in mind. Wide sidewalks, running tracks, and interconnected gardens make it the best place in the city for outdoor activities.
The area has evolved beyond embassies to include premium shopping (Via Riyadh, Nakheel Mall), excellent restaurants, and family-friendly amenities. It's particularly popular with expats and health-conscious residents.
